Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Reach a Deal

The investment banking weekend saga continues. The Wall Street Journal Online just reported B of A struck a deal to purchase Merrill Lynch for $44 billion, roughly about two-thirds of its value from a year ago. The headlines also continue to paint a very bleak future for Lehman Bros. with words such as “end,” “demise,” and the dreaded “L” word… “liquidation” being the theme.
